Welcome to the first SpaceUp in Russia, hosted by Skoltech on April 22, 2017,
to mark Yuri Gagarin’s Spaceflight month!!

Wondering what is SpaceUp?

SpaceUp is a worldwide leading interdisciplinary Space ‘unconference’ concept specially designed for free exchange of ideas. It is a participant driven event, i.e., everyone who attends SpaceUp is encouraged to give a talk, moderate a panel, or start a discussion. The participants can talk on any space or astronautics-related topic from any discipline like astrophysics, cosmology, engineering, biochemistry, human physiology, business, law, policy, arts, culture, fiction, etc.

It’s a great platform that brings together students, researchers, professors, astronauts, cosmonauts and space enthusiasts to network, learn and actively interchange interesting space ideas.

How SpaceUp works?

  • T-5 talks are ignite-format: Each speaker gets 5 minutes to talk, with maximum 10 slides rotating automatically every 15 seconds. (Decided on-spot or scheduled before hand).
  • Session Grid : 10-15 minutes sessions that can take the form of a talk, a Q&A, or a project demo (scheduled in advance) on a grid board.
  • 60 seconds to land – 1 minute video sent by those who could not attend.

There will be lunch, snacks and games too! Join us for a day full of learning, networking and celebrate the Russian pioneering spirit.
